Biography
Kōbun Shizuno is a Japanese anime film and television director. Born on 2 September 1972 in Tokyo, he began directing with the television series Detective Conan in 2004 and has worked in various roles on projects including Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (2007) and the television series Knights of Sidonia (2014).
He directed several Detective Conan feature films between 2011 and 2017, including Quarter of Silence (2011), The Eleventh Striker (2012), Dimensional Sniper (2014), Sunflowers of Inferno (2015), The Darkest Nightmare (2016) and Crimson Love Letter (2017). Shizuno co-directed the animated Godzilla trilogy with Hiroyuki Seshita: Planet of the Monsters (2017), City on the Edge of Battle (2018) and The Planet Eater (2018).
