Biography
Kôji Komurakata (小村方 宏治) is a Japanese animator, storyboard artist and director. He began his career in key animation, with early credits including Ghost in the Shell (1995), Ranma ½ (1989) and Golden Boy (1995).
He has worked as animation director and episode director on series such as Kuroko's Basketball (2012–2015) and Haikyu!! (2014), for which he directed multiple episodes. Later directing credits include episodes of Joker Game (2016), Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These (2018), Heavenly Delusion (2023) and Kaiju No. 8 (2024). He formerly worked at Ajiado and heads the animation department at Production I.G Studio Niigata.
