Biography
Konnie Huq, born Kanak Asha Huq on 17 July 1975 in Hammersmith, London, is a British television presenter, screenwriter and author. She studied economics at Robinson College, Cambridge. Huq became the longest-serving female presenter of the BBC children's programme Blue Peter, appearing from 1997 to 2008. She trained part-time with the National Youth Music Theatre and made early television appearances as a child guest on the show and as a contestant on Blockbusters.
Huq co-wrote the Black Mirror episode 'Fifteen Million Merits' (2011) with her husband, Charlie Brooker. She has appeared as an actress in series including Good Omens (2019), Invasion (2021) and A Touch of Cloth (2012). She has also written children's books, beginning with Cookie and the Most Annoying Boy in the World in 2019. Huq and Brooker married in 2010.
