Biography
Kyra Sedgwick is an American actress, director and producer. Born in New York City on 19 August 1965, she trained at the University of Southern California and began acting in the early 1980s.
She is best known for her leading role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT series The Closer (2005–2012), for which she received a Golden Globe and an Emmy. Sedgwick has also directed episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine (including the 2020 episode 'Dillman'), Ray Donovan and other series, and made her feature directorial debut with Space Oddity (2022). She is married to actor Kevin Bacon.
