Biography
L. M. Kit Carson (born Lewis Minor Carson) was an American screenwriter, actor, director and producer. He was born on 12 August 1941 in Irving, Texas, and died on 20 October 2014 in Dallas, Texas.
Carson received an adaptation credit for the screenplay of Paris, Texas (1984), co-written with Sam Shepard. He also wrote the screenplays for Breathless (1983) and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 (1986). Earlier in his career he wrote and starred in the mockumentary David Holzman's Diary (1967).
He co-founded the USA Film Festival in Dallas and mentored emerging filmmakers including Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson. His son, actor Hunter Carson, appeared in Paris, Texas.
