Biography
Lauren Lapkus is an American actress and comedian. Born Dorthea Lauren Allegra Lapkus on 6 September 1985 in Evanston, Illinois, she attended Evanston Township High School and graduated from DePaul University with a degree in English in 2008. She began performing improv at the iO Theater in Chicago.
Lapkus is known for her role as Susan Fischer in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black (2013–2014, 2019). Her film credits include Vivian in Jurassic World (2015), Tracy in Blended (2014) and Millicent in Holmes & Watson (2018). On television she has appeared as Denise in The Big Bang Theory (2018–2019) and Jess in Crashing (2017–2019). She has also provided voices for animated series including Adventure Time and Star vs. the Forces of Evil, and appeared in films such as The Wrong Missy (2020). Lapkus performs regularly on podcasts including Comedy Bang! Bang!.
