Biography
Lea DeLaria is an American comedian, actress and jazz singer. She was born on 23 May 1958 in Belleville, Illinois.
DeLaria is known for playing Carrie "Big Boo" Black in the series Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019). She voiced Miss Fritter in the film Cars 3 (2017). Her other credits include appearances in Friends (1994), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), The Blacklist (2013), Shameless (2011), Californication (2007), The First Wives Club (1996), Will & Grace (1998) and Awkward. (2011). She has worked in theatre, including Broadway productions of On the Town (1998) and The Rocky Horror Show (2000), and appeared as Psychic Madame Delphina in One Life to Live (1999–2011). DeLaria was the first openly gay comic to appear on a late-night talk show with her 1993 appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show.
