Biography
Lea Salonga is a Filipina actress and singer. Born Maria Lea Carmen Imutan Salonga on 22 February 1971 in Manila, she began performing professionally in musical theatre in the Philippines as a child.
She originated the role of Kim in the West End and Broadway productions of Miss Saigon, winning the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 1991. Salonga supplied the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in the Disney animated film Aladdin (1992) and of Fa Mulan in Mulan (1998) and Mulan II (2004). She was named a Disney Legend in 2011.
