Biography
Lee Evans is an English comedian, actor, musician and writer. Born in Avonmouth, Bristol, he began performing stand-up in the late 1980s and rose to prominence with appearances at the Edinburgh Festival.
He made his film debut in Funny Bones (1995), for which he received the Paris Film Festival Award for Best Actor. Evans subsequently appeared in Hollywood comedies including The Fifth Element (1997), MouseHunt (1997), There's Something About Mary (1998) as Tucker, The Ladies Man (2000) and The Medallion (2003). He also voiced characters in Dinotopia (2002) and The Magic Roundabout (2005), and starred in the thriller Freeze Frame (2004).
Evans retired from stand-up comedy in 2014 after a successful arena touring career.
