Biography

Leon Ericksen was an American art director and production designer. Born in Wyoming on 31 July 1937, he worked extensively in the New Hollywood era, often on films directed by Robert Altman.

He served as production designer on McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971), Images (1972), Cinderella Liberty (1973), Quintet (1979) and Out of the Blue (1980). His art direction credits include Medium Cool (1969), The Rain People (1969), California Split (1974), Up in Smoke (1978) and Iceman (1984). He was also associate producer on MASH (1970) and worked as second-unit art director on Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope* (1977), credited as Leon Erickson.

Ericksen died on 19 June 2007 in Glendale, California.
