Biography
Leonardo Cimino (4 November 1917 – 3 March 2012) was an American film, television and stage actor. Born in Manhattan, New York, he began his career in the theatre and appeared in the original 1937 stage production of Marc Blitzstein's The Cradle Will Rock. He made his Broadway debut in 1946 in a revival of Cyrano de Bergerac and went on to appear in numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway productions over several decades. He received an Obie Award for his performance in The Brothers Karamazov (1958) and a Joseph Jefferson Award for The Man in the Glass Booth (1970).
Cimino's screen roles included Abraham Bernstein in the 1983 miniseries V, the Baron's Doctor in Dune (1984), Felix in Moonstruck (1987), the Scary German Guy in The Monster Squad (1987), a cardinal in Hudson Hawk (1991), and an elder in Waterworld (1995). He also appeared in Stardust Memories (1980), Amityville II: The Possession (1982), Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007) and multiple episodes of Law & Order. He was married to actress Sharon Powers.
