Biography

Leslie Dixon is an American screenwriter and producer. She first gained recognition in Hollywood with her screenplay for the comedy Outrageous Fortune (1987). Her early credits also include Overboard (1987) and the co-written screenplay for Mrs. Doubtfire (1993).

Dixon has written or co-written screenplays for The Thomas Crown Affair (1999), Pay It Forward (2000), Freaky Friday (2003), Just Like Heaven (2005), Hairspray (2007), The Heartbreak Kid (2007) and Limitless (2011), the last of which she also produced. She received a Saturn Award nomination for her work on Freaky Friday. She is the granddaughter of photographer Dorothea Lange and painter Maynard Dixon, and is married to screenwriter Tom Ropelewski.
