Biography
Leslie Sketchley was a British actor who appeared in numerous films and television series, predominantly in uncredited roles.
Born in London in 1902, he began his screen career in the late 1920s with parts in Tiger Rose (1929) and Journey's End (1930). He later worked extensively in Hollywood, including as Corporal (uncredited) in Gunga Din (1939), London policeman in The Long Voyage Home (1940), policeman in Mrs. Miniver (1942), and various townsmen, bailiffs and extras in films such as Fort Apache (1948), Around the World in 80 Days (1956), Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957) and The Great Race (1965).
Sketchley also appeared in television episodes of series including The Twilight Zone (as Abraham Lincoln, uncredited) and Bonanza. He died in San Bernardino, California, in 1972.
