Biography

Lim Giong (Chinese: 林強; also credited as Giong Lim or Lin Chiang) is a Taiwanese composer, musician and DJ. Born on 7 June 1964 in Changhua, he began his recording career in 1990 with the album Marching Forward.

He has composed original scores for films directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien, Jia Zhangke and Bi Gan, including Millennium Mambo (2001), Still Life (2006), Three Times (2005), The World (2004), A Touch of Sin (2013), The Assassin (2015), Kaili Blues (2016), Ash Is Purest White (2018), Long Day's Journey Into Night (2018) and Caught by the Tides (2024). He received the Cannes Soundtrack Award for The Assassin and several Golden Horse Awards for best original film score.
