Biography
Lindsay Kemp (1938–2018) was a British dancer, actor, mime artist and choreographer. He appeared as Alder MacGreagor in The Wicker Man (1973) and took roles in Sebastiane (1976), Valentino (1977), Jubilee (1978) and Velvet Goldmine (1998).
Kemp trained in dance with Hilde Holger and mime with Marcel Marceau. He formed his own company in the early 1960s and became known for productions such as Flowers. He taught dance and movement to David Bowie and Kate Bush, and staged elements of Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust performances.
