Biography
Lisa Banes was an American actress. She was born on 9 July 1955 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and trained at the Juilliard School.
Banes appeared in more than eighty film and television roles. Her screen credits include Bonnie in Cocktail (1988), Marybeth Elliott in Gone Girl (2014) and Hollis in A Cure for Wellness (2016). She also had recurring or guest roles in series including Six Feet Under, Desperate Housewives, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, NCIS, Once Upon a Time and The Orville. On stage she performed on Broadway and received a Theatre World Award for Look Back in Anger (1981) and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Isn't It Romantic (1984).
Banes died on 14 June 2021 in New York City, aged 65, from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run scooter accident ten days earlier.
