Biography
Lisa Renee Pitts is an American actress who has worked in film, television and theatre. She holds a BFA from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts and began her career in New York with Off-Broadway and regional theatre productions before moving to Los Angeles.
On screen she is known for the role of Verna Griffin in Straight Outta Compton (2015), Letter Writer #2 in Her (2013), Kelly Withers in the segment “Her Only Living Son” of XX (2017), and Alice Underwood in the 2020 miniseries The Stand. Television credits include recurring work on Lincoln Heights and guest appearances in The Shield (2002), Charmed (1998) and Law & Order (1990). She made her Broadway debut as understudy in the 2017 production of Sweat.
Pitts is also an award-winning audiobook narrator.
