Biography

Lisa Rinzler is an American cinematographer who has worked on feature films and documentaries. She studied painting at the Pratt Institute before switching to film at New York University.

Her credits include Menace II Society (1993) and Dead Presidents (1995) for the Hughes brothers, Trees Lounge (1996), Buena Vista Social Club (1999) and Lisbon Story (1994) for Wim Wenders, and Pollock (2000). She has also shot documentaries such as The Soul of a Man (2003).

Rinzler won Independent Spirit Awards for best cinematography on Menace II Society and Three Seasons (1999). She received a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding cinematography for nonfiction programming.
