Biography
Llewellyn Wells is an American television and film producer, production manager and occasional director. He began his career in the late 1980s working on independent films, serving as unit production manager on Bagdad Cafe (1987) and production manager on The Grifters (1990) and Stepfather 2 (1989). He later worked as associate producer on Dogfight (1991) and The Adventures of Huck Finn (1993).
Wells is best known for his work on the NBC series The West Wing (1999), where he held roles including producer, line producer and co-executive producer across 108 episodes and directed one episode in 2004. He received five Primetime Emmy Awards for the series, along with a Golden Globe and two Producers Guild of America Awards. He is the brother of producer and writer John Wells.
Subsequent producing credits include Animal Kingdom (2016), Designated Survivor (2017–2018), The Rookie (2018), The Right Stuff (2020), The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey (2022) and The Walking Dead: Dead City (2023). He has also served as executive producer on Emperor of Ocean Park (2024).
