Biography
Lowell Peterson is an American cinematographer and member of the American Society of Cinematographers. He has served as director of photography on numerous television series, including Six Feet Under (2004), Desperate Housewives (2005–2012) and Jane the Virgin (2014–2019).
He studied art and architecture at Yale University and film at UCLA. Peterson began his career as a camera assistant on series such as Hawaii Five-O and worked as a camera operator on Star Trek: The Next Generation before advancing to director of photography, starting with the final season of Knots Landing.
Peterson received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series for his work on Six Feet Under and was awarded the ASC Career Achievement in Television Award in 2015.
