Biography
Lucien Prival (1901–1994) was an American character actor who appeared in more than seventy films between 1926 and 1953, often in supporting or uncredited roles as Germanic or European figures.
Born in New York City, he lived in Berlin from 1912 to 1919 before returning to the United States, where he worked as a salesman until entering stage work and signing with First National Pictures. He frequently portrayed villains or authority figures resembling Erich von Stroheim.
Among his credits are The Racket (1928), Hell's Angels (1930) as Baron Von Kranz, Bride of Frankenstein (1935) as the butler, History Is Made at Night (1937), The Great Dictator (1940), and High Noon (1952).
