Biography
Lucille Soong is a Chinese-American actress. Born on 5 September 1935 in Tianjin, China, she moved to Hong Kong at the age of 21 and was discovered by director Lewis Gilbert, making her screen debut in his 1959 film Ferry to Hong Kong.
After moving to London in the 1960s, she appeared in British television and film, later relocating to the United States. She is best known for her recurring role as Grandma Jenny Huang in the series Fresh Off the Boat (2015–2020) and for her performances in Freaky Friday (2003) as Pei-Pei's mother and Raya and the Last Dragon (2021) voicing Dang Hu. She reprises a role in the 2025 sequel Freakier Friday.
