Biography
Lucki Stipetić, also credited as Hartwolf Stipetić or Lucki Herzog, is a German film producer. Born in 1947 in Aschau im Chiemgau, he is the younger half-brother of filmmaker Werner Herzog.
Stipetić has served as producer or in production roles on nearly all of Herzog’s films since the early 1970s, beginning with production management on Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972). He produced Fitzcarraldo (1982) and later works including Cobra Verde (1987), Lessons of Darkness (1992), Little Dieter Needs to Fly (1997), My Best Fiend (1999), Import/Export (2007), Into the Inferno (2016), Meeting Gorbachev (2019) and Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds (2020). He is the long-standing head of Werner Herzog Filmproduktion and has also overseen the associated Werner Herzog Foundation.
In 1987 Stipetić shared the Bavarian Film Prize producer award with his half-brother.
