Biography
Luke Thompson is an English actor. He was born on 4 July 1988 in Southampton and raised in France from the age of two. He studied English and Drama at the University of Bristol and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2013.
Thompson began his professional career in theatre, making his debut in 2013 as Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Shakespeare's Globe. He is best known for playing Benedict Bridgerton in the Netflix series Bridgerton (2020–present), taking the lead role in its fourth series in 2026. His other screen credits include In the Club (2014–2016), Dunkirk (2017), Misbehaviour (2020) and Transatlantic (2023).
On stage, Thompson appeared as Willem in the West End production of A Little Life (2023–2024), for which he received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination and won a WhatsOnStage Award.
