Biography
Lynda Myles is a British film producer and former festival director. She served as director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival from 1973 to 1980, becoming the first woman to direct a major film festival.
Myles produced film adaptations of Roddy Doyle's Barrytown Trilogy, including The Commitments (1991, co-produced with Roger Randall-Cutler), The Snapper (1993) and The Van (1996). Her other production credits include Defence of the Realm (1986) and Killing Me Softly (2002, co-producer). She has also worked in training programmes for producers in Eastern Europe and served on the Board of Governors of the British Film Institute.
