Biography

Marc Louis Maxime de Jonge (16 February 1949 – 10 March 1996) was a French actor. Born in Nancy, he initially studied law before training at the Conservatory of Dramatic Art of Paris. He began appearing in films in the late 1970s and worked regularly in French cinema and television throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

He is known for his role as Colonel Zaysen in Rambo III (1988) and for playing a Frenchman in Empire of the Sun (1987). Other credits include The French Revolution (1989), L'Opération Corned Beef (1991), Fear City: A Family-Style Comedy (1994) and Little Indian, Big City (1994). He appeared in more than fifty films, mostly French productions.

De Jonge died in Paris after falling while attempting to climb into his home having forgotten his keys. He was married to actress Rebecca Potok.
