Biography

Marco Ramirez is an American television writer, producer and playwright. He began his television career as a staff writer on the third season of the FX series Sons of Anarchy (2010–2011). His other writing credits include episodes of Orange Is the New Black, Da Vinci's Demons (where he also served as producer on the first two seasons), Fear the Walking Dead, Marvel's Daredevil and The Defenders.

Ramirez co-created the 2019 revival of The Twilight Zone with Simon Kinberg and Jordan Peele. He later served as showrunner on La Máquina (2024) and was announced in 2025 as showrunner for the series Delphi. In theatre, his play The Royale premiered Off-Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater in 2016 and received Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards. He wrote the book for the Broadway musical Buena Vista Social Club, which opened in 2025 and earned him a Tony Award nomination for Best Book of a Musical.

A Miami native and graduate of New York University, Ramirez studied playwriting as a fellow at the Juilliard School.
