Biography
Marcus Gilbert (29 July 1958 – 11 January 2026) was a British actor. He trained at the Mountview Theatre School, graduating in 1981, and began his career with the Odyssey Theatre Company before seasons at the Dundee Repertory Theatre and the Library Theatre, Manchester.
Gilbert appeared in films including Biggles (1986), Rambo III (1988), A Hazard of Hearts (1987), Army of Darkness (1992) and Legacy (1993). On television he played Ancelyn in Doctor Who (1989), Rupert Campbell-Black in Riders (1993), Colin Biddle in Murder, She Wrote (1994) and Jason Tippet in Jonathan Creek (1998). He also worked in theatre, notably as the young Viscount Goring in An Ideal Husband on a national tour in 2000, and appeared in numerous commercials.
He ran his own production company, Touch the Sky Productions. Gilbert was married to Homaa Khan from 1992 until her death in 2020; they had two children.
