Biography
Maria Carlota Bruno, also credited as Maria Carlota Fernandes Bruno or Maria Carlota Fernandes, is a Brazilian film producer. She has worked at the independent production company VideoFilmes since 1989, becoming its Executive Director in 2011. The company was founded by Walter Salles and João Moreira Salles.
Bruno has contributed to numerous films, often in collaboration with Walter Salles. Her credits include assistant director roles on The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) and Dark Water (2005), line producer on On the Road (2012), and producer on I'm Still Here (2024). Other notable productions include Paulina (2015), Song Without a Name (2019), Mariner of the Mountains (2021), and Noah's Ark (2024).
I'm Still Here earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Picture; the film won the Oscar for Best International Feature Film. She has also served as an international juror at film festivals in Portugal, Chile and Peru.
