Biography
Maria Ekerhovd is a Norwegian film producer. Born in Bergen in 1975, she graduated from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology with a bachelor's degree in film and video production after being unsuccessful in applications to film schools. She began her career in the industry as a clapper loader and later worked as a producer, production manager and first assistant director on short films.
In 2011 she founded the production company Mer Film. Her credits include The Innocents (2021), War Sailor (2022) and Sentimental Value (2025). She won the Eurimages Co-Production Award at the 2021 European Film Awards and has received multiple Amanda Award nominations for best film.
