Biography
Maria McErlane is a British actress and presenter specialising in comedy. Born on 9 December 1957 in Buckinghamshire, England, she began acting in 1984 and started on the stand-up comedy circuit in the 1990s under the name Maria Callous.
She is known for appearances in the sketch series The Fast Show (1994) as various characters, as well as roles in Gimme Gimme Gimme (1999), Happiness (2001–2003), Thin Ice (2006), The Bill (2002) and Holby City (2004). She provided the narration for Eurotrash and has collaborated frequently with Graham Norton, co-presenting Carnal Knowledge (1990s) and the 'Grill Graham' feature on his radio show. Other credits include Children of Men (2006) and Killing Eve (2020).
