Biography
Marie-Josèphe Yoyotte was a French film and television editor. She edited François Truffaut’s The 400 Blows (1959) and worked on numerous other features from the late 1950s onwards, including War of the Buttons (1962), Diva (1981), The Party (1980) and The Party 2 (1982).
Yoyotte received three César Awards for Best Editing: for Police Python 357 (1977), Microcosmos (1996, shared with Florence Ricard) and Winged Migration (2001). She also appeared as an actress in a small number of films, including Jean Cocteau’s Testament of Orpheus (1960). She was born on 5 November 1929 in Saint-Fons, France, and died on 17 July 2017.
