Biography
Marisa Paredes, born María Luisa Paredes Bartolomé, was a Spanish actress. She made her film debut at the age of 14 in 091: Policía al habla (1960) and maintained a career spanning more than six decades.
Paredes appeared in several films directed by Pedro Almodóvar, including Dark Habits (1983), High Heels (1991), The Flower of My Secret (1995), All About My Mother (1999) and The Skin I Live In (2011). She played Dora's mother in Roberto Benigni's Life Is Beautiful (1997) and Carmen in Guillermo del Toro's The Devil's Backbone (2001). She died in Madrid on 17 December 2024.
