Biography
Mark Adler is an American composer, orchestrator, conductor and music editor. He graduated from the film school at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he studied film scoring with David Raksin, and earlier received an American Film Institute grant for a screenplay. As a teenager he created an animated short film acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Adler scored feature films including Food, Inc. (2008) and its sequel, Bottle Shock (2008) and Picture Bride (1994). He wrote and produced source music for The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) and Henry & June (1990), and worked as a music editor on Amadeus (1984), Blue Velvet (1986) and The Godfather Part III (1990). His television credits include the Emmy-winning score for the HBO film The Rat Pack (1998) and a nomination for Forbidden Territory: Stanley's Search for Livingstone (1997). He is a former vice-president of the Society of Composers and Lyricists and has served on the Board of Governors of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
