Biography
Mark 'Crash' McCreery is an American concept artist, creature designer, visual effects artist and production designer. He graduated with a BFA in illustration from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in 1988 and began his career at Stan Winston Studio, where he worked for around 12 years on projects including Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Edward Scissorhands and the Jurassic Park films.
McCreery has contributed creature designs to films such as Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), The Village (2004), Dreamcatcher (2003) and Bird Box (2018). He served as production designer on the animated feature Rango (2011), for which he also provided character designs and voiced a character, and on The Lone Ranger (2013). He has worked as a freelance designer through his company Calypso Productions and has held roles with Universal's monster properties.
