Biography

Mark Sanger is a British film editor. Born on 13 January 1974 in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, he is best known for his work on Gravity (2013), for which he shared the Academy Award for Best Film Editing.

His other editing credits include Transformers: The Last Knight (2017), Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019), Jurassic World Dominion (2022) and Venom: The Last Dance (2024). He has also served as first assistant editor on earlier films such as Solomon Kane (2009) and If Only (2004).

Sanger directed the short film Reflection (2018) and received an honorary Doctor of Arts degree from Solent University in 2018. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the American Cinema Editors.
