Biography
Mark Tonderai is a British-Zimbabwean film and television director, writer and former disc jockey. Born in London in 1974 and raised in Zimbabwe, he studied architecture before entering radio, where he hosted The Mark Tonderai Show on BBC Radio 1.
He co-founded the London-based production company Shona Productions with his wife Zoe Stewart. Tonderai began directing with the feature Hush (2008) and went on to helm House at the End of the Street (2012) and Spell (2020). His television credits include directing all ten episodes of The Five (2016) and multiple episodes of Doctor Who (2018 and 2023), Gotham, Lucifer, Locke & Key and Foundation.
