Biography
Mark White is an American production designer. He attended the Center for Creative Youth at Wesleyan University and studied at the Silvermine Arts Center and Maryland Institute College of Art. He began his career in commercial illustration and toy and mask design for Topstone Industries, later working as a prop fabricator, scenic painter, set decorator and art director before becoming a production designer.
His credits include production design on Winter's Bone (2010), Transamerica (2005), Wet Hot American Summer (2001), Prom (2011), Fun Size (2012), They Came Together (2014) and episodes of The Handmaid's Tale (2017–2018). He served as art director on Boiler Room (2000) and has worked on series including Outcast (2016–2017).
White won a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding production design for The Handmaid's Tale in 2018 and an Art Directors Guild Award in the same year. He is a member of United Scenic Artists and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and is based in New York.
