Biography
Marsha Stephanie Blake is a Jamaican American actress. Born in Jamaica on 3 May 1974, she emigrated to the United States in the late 1980s. She graduated from Dartmouth College in 1996 and received an MFA from the graduate acting programme at the University of California, San Diego.
Blake has performed in numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, including The Merchant of Venice, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, The Crucible, An Octoroon and Hurt Village. On television she has appeared in series including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Elementary, The Blacklist, Orange Is the New Black as Berdie Rogers, How to Get Away with Murder as Vivian Maddox, This Is Us and Chicago P.D..
She played Linda McCray in the Netflix miniseries When They See Us (2019), for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie. Film credits include The Laundromat (2019) and An American Pickle (2020).
