Biography

Martin Henderson is a New Zealand actor born on 8 October 1974 in Auckland. He began acting at the age of thirteen and first gained recognition in his home country for playing Stuart Neilson in the soap opera Shortland Street from 1992 to 1995.

Henderson moved to Australia and then the United States, where he appeared in films including Windtalkers (2002) and starred as Noah Clay opposite Naomi Watts in The Ring (2002). Subsequent film roles include Everest (2015), Miracles from Heaven (2016) and X (2022).

On television, he has played Dr Nathan Riggs in Grey's Anatomy (2015–2017), Dr Ben Keeton in Off the Map (2011) and Jack Sheridan in Virgin River (2019–present).
