Biography
Martin Milner was an American actor whose career spanned film and television from the late 1940s to the 1990s. Born Martin Sam Milner on 28 December 1931 in Detroit, Michigan, he made his screen debut in the 1947 film Life with Father and appeared in supporting roles in films including Sands of Iwo Jima (1950), Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957) and Sweet Smell of Success (1957), in which he played Steve Dallas.
Milner achieved wider recognition on television. He starred as Tod Stiles in the CBS series Route 66 (1960–1964) and as Officer Pete Malloy in the NBC police drama Adam-12 (1968–1975). He also made numerous guest appearances, among them episodes of The Twilight Zone, Columbo and Murder, She Wrote.
He trained briefly at the University of Southern California after graduating from North Hollywood High School and served in the US Army in the early 1950s. Milner was married to actress and singer Judy Jones from 1957 until his death on 6 September 2015 in Carlsbad, California.
