Biography

Mary Veronica Healey is an English actress. She was born on 9 December 1942 in Rugby, Warwickshire, and trained at art college in Leeds before working at Nottingham Playhouse and making her television debut in 1968.

Healey is known for her role as Ida in the film Brassed Off (1996). Her other screen credits include Mrs Karno in Chaplin (1992), appearances in Doctor Who (1963), Line of Duty (2012) as Eileen Farmer, Midsomer Murders (1997), Foyle's War (2002), A Touch of Frost (1992), Silent Witness (1996) and A Cock and Bull Story (2005). She has also worked extensively in British television, with roles in series such as The Duchess of Duke Street (1976–1977) and Brookside.

She has been married to actor Morgan Deare since 1989.
