Biography
Mataichirô Yamamoto (also known as Mata Yamamoto) is a Japanese film producer and screenwriter. Born on 25 October 1947 in Kagoshima Prefecture, he began working in the industry in the early 1970s after a period in manga publishing and management. He has produced numerous films, often under the pseudonym Rikiya Mizushima for screenwriting credits.
Yamamoto produced Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985) alongside Tom Luddy. His other credits include Golgo 13: The Professional (1983), Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2001), the Azumi films (2003–2005), the Crows Zero series (2007–2014), Cyborg She (2008) and Lupin the 3rd (2014). In 1993 he founded Tristone Entertainment, where he served as representative director before becoming chairman.
