Biography
Matthew Porretta is an American actor. Born on 29 May 1965 in Darien, Connecticut, he comes from a show-business family; his father was a tenor and musical theatre actor, and his mother, Roberta, was Miss Ohio 1956.
He trained at the Manhattan School of Music and appeared on Broadway in productions including the US tour of Les Misérables and the original cast of Passion. Early television work included roles in Wings and Beverly Hills, 90210. In 1993 he played Will Scarlet O'Hara in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and from 1996 to 1998 he starred as Robin Hood in The New Adventures of Robin Hood.
Porretta is also known for voice work as the title character in the Alan Wake video game series, including Alan Wake (2010), its sequel (2023), and related titles, as well as Dr Casper Darling in Control.
