Biography
Matthew Schofield is an Australian animator and director. He grew up in Australia and began his career in feature animation, working as an inbetween artist on films including Cats Don't Dance (1997), The Prince of Egypt (1998) and The Iron Giant (1999).
Schofield joined The Simpsons in 1999 as a character layout artist and has held roles including assistant director, storyboard artist and second unit director. He directed six episodes between 2009 and 2014, including "The Fight Before Christmas" (co-directed with Bob Anderson) and "Treehouse of Horror XX" (co-directed with Mike B. Anderson). He has also served as supervising storyboard director on the series. Additional credits include assistant director on The Simpsons Movie (2007) and Maggie Simpson in "The Longest Daycare" (2012).
