Biography
Matthias Brenner is a German actor, director, author and intendant. He was born on 10 September 1957 in Meiningen and is the son of actor Carl Rüdiger Brenner. He studied acting at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst „Ernst Busch“ in Berlin from 1979 to 1982, following early amateur theatre experience at the Meininger Theater. His early engagements included work in Annaberg-Buchholz and Erfurt.
Brenner is known for his film and television roles, including Karl Wallner in The Lives of Others (2006), Otto in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022), Erzieher Wolfgang in System Crasher (2019), Georg in Nightlife (2020) and Ernst von Bergmann in Charité (2017). He has appeared in numerous episodes of Scene of the Crime (Tatort) in various roles. He is married to actress and author Cornelia Heyse.
