Biography

Maurice Marable, also credited as Mo Marable, is an American director and producer of television series and commercials. He began working in the industry after an internship on Spike Lee's Drop Squad while studying at Georgia State University film school, later serving as a production supervisor on music videos.

Marable spent several years at HBO in creative services, where he directed title sequences including those for Big Love (for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination) and Entourage. He later became vice president of creative services at BET Networks and founded the production company Brim + Brew. His directing credits include episodes of Veep (2012), Insecure (2016), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Brockmire (for which he directed three seasons), Woke (which he also executive produced), and Killing It.

In 2021 Marable received a Black Reel Award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series for his work on Woke. He has been attached to direct projects including a Disney+ remake of Three Men and a Baby and the feature The Fall.
