Biography
Maurice Seezer (real name Maurice Roycroft) is an Irish songwriter, musician and film composer. Born in 1960 in Dublin, he grew up in the suburb of Coolock.
He has written or co-written film scores including Angel Baby (1995), The Boxer (1997), Disco Pigs (2001), In America (2003) and Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005), frequently in collaboration with Gavin Friday. Seezer contributed songs to soundtracks for directors including Jim Sheridan and Baz Luhrmann, and has worked with artists such as Bono, Sinéad O'Connor and Andrea Corr.
He was nominated twice for a Golden Globe and twice for an Ivor Novello Award, and won the Phoenix Film Critics Society Award for Best Original Song for 'Time Enough for Tears' from In America (2003).
