Biography
Mayim Bialik is an American actor and neuroscientist. Born in San Diego, California, she began her career as a child actor in the late 1980s, with early roles including the film Pumpkinhead (1988) and young C.C. Bloom in Beaches (1988). She gained prominence playing the title character in the NBC sitcom Blossom (1990–1995).
After a period focused on education, during which she earned a bachelor's degree and a PhD in neuroscience from UCLA, Bialik returned to acting. She is best known for playing neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler on the CBS series The Big Bang Theory (2010–2019), a role for which she received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations. She has also appeared in Call Me Kat (2021–2023) and hosted Jeopardy!.
