Biography

Mayu Matsuoka (松岡 茉優) is a Japanese actress born on 16 February 1995 in Tokyo. She has been active since 2004 and is represented by Don-crew.

Her film roles include Yuri in Love Exposure (2008), Satomi Shirai in Lesson of the Evil (2012), Kikko in the Little Forest films (2014–2015), young Shōya Ishida (voice) in A Silent Voice: The Movie (2016), Aki Shibata in Shoplifters (2018) and Akane (voice) in The Wonderland (2019). Voice work also encompasses Menoa Bellucci in Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna (2020) and Kimia in Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel (2016). She plays Fumi Numata in the series Plastic Beauty (2026).

In 2016 she received the Tama Best Emerging Actress Award and the Fumiko Yamaji Freshman Actress Award. She served as ambassador for the Tokyo International Film Festival in 2017. She married actor and singer Daiki Arioka in 2024.
